error from tmpg with bmp loader

tmpg choked when trying to encode title pic and change cd pic.
Both images are jpeg, do they need to be bmp files?

Please help me, I can't figure this out.

I do not believe they need to be bmp's at the start.
One of the files it downloaded for me from IMDB was a jpg.
There is a filesize limitation though. Although I have never
heard of it making the encoder cough.
I do not have it on the top of my head, but it's been
posted here so a search should find any limitaions.
