Hi all. Last week I was using 1.0.8 b1 no problem so I am sure this is not an issue with D2S.

I did a rebuild, put D2S back on, remembered I needed ASPI as I am on XP so went to doom9's homepage to see if there was any link to newer versions and went off and got Adaptecs ASPI 4.70 install. Until now I had been using forceaspi (1.70 i think).

I am having issues with the "analysing video.. Please wait...." window in D2S not going away when I click the disk icon on the conversion tab. It also happens If I browse to the correct .ifo myself.

If I ignore it an try to rip I get errors up and things won't work. If I make all the correct settings, save them to a file, shut D2S, go back in load settings, re-browse IMDB and pick the .ifo myself, then after several attempts at this, the Analysing video pop up will eventual go away on one of the tries and I can successfully rip the backup.

Has anyone else seen this or suggest anything. I know obviously I could go back to using forceaspi but it would be good to use the latest Adaptec drivers which are now advertised as officially supporting XP.

Cheers

i was having too many problems with aspi 4.70 as well on xp-pro.

it worked fine before i installed it, and after the installation, it stopped recgnizing my cd-rw in certain applications. (i.e. ePSXe - psx emulator, CDex - audio cd mp3/off ripper, and other rippers).

fortunately, cdex has on it's site an old zipped winaspi32.dll for win nt, that solved the problem to some xp users. it also worked for me (i put it on cdex dir, because i didn't want to harm aspi 4.70 compatibility for other apps).

but since too many cd programs had problems, i eventually put the winaspi file on windows\system32 (if i remember correctly, just replace the current one), and now all my cd programs are working perfctly.

Thanks for the feedback, it's always reassuring to know that I'm not going mad :p

I'll go back to the earlier ASPI which has always been fine.
