Problem: Can't get above 1.7x for ripping in Win2k Pro
History: Used to get 4.2x under Win98
My system
Athlon 1.4
Via Mb
256mb ram
Drive:Toshiba SD-M1202 (master on IDE2)
3 hard drives. (80gb maxtor paired with dvd on ide2)
DMA settings: IDE device 0 : DMA (dvd drive)
IDE device 1 : Ultra DMA (maxtor drive)
Both IDE 1 drives are on UDMA.
Drivers: Latest Via 4in1 mb drivers. (mb)
Latest (not that its new) revision of the toshiba drivers
Firmware? Don't know how to get/flash firmware on the dvd drive so this could be an issue, but as only the OS changed since I was getting better speed I doubt it.
If anyone has any other variables that I've missed and could try messing around with, PLEASE let me know, otherwise thanks for your time.
