Ogg encoding guide?

Hi, I'm looking for an Ogg encoding guide.
More specificly, a command line tools, who can be setup to be a slave for audio (cd) encoding.

Also, I can't find any sites explainig the various parameters and their effect on quality.

Any good Ogg tool will do :)

yes Xiph.org or vorbis.com have CLI utils for vorbis encoding. Also John33 over at hydrogenaudio has whipped up CLI decoders.
