View Full Version : Audio seriously out of sync, no matter what codec used

My computer is a 1000 AMD Athlon, 256mb memory and it is running Win 98 SE.

The problem is that the movies audio gets very seriously out of sync in the end of the movie. The sync is perfect in the beginning but towards the end it totally starts to suck. I used 128k mp3 for the audio (with the exactly same lame & azid settings on the Doom9 guide). I did the movie with Divx 3 & 4.12 but both of them had the same problem. There's no extra programs running on the background (at least ones that I know of).

Any ideas what I should check or change? Would it help to change my os to Win2K or WinXP?

The latest movie I tried encoding was Ravenous R2. This also happens on R1 movies.

Did you remeber to put the delay in ms when you encode?

If you are using GKnot, delay is handled automatically. You don't
need to input it.

Why not transcode your audio file using "headAC3he"?

Or Vob2Audio if you used smartripper :)

maybe you selected/changed the wrong fps rate in the settings... this causes the out of sync problem as well.

I've had the same problem on one of my machines and after a *extensive* trial-and-error session I replaced the sound-card, or rather inserted one instead of the built-in and voila, perfect!
This sound/sync issue is something of a voodo-thing.

I don't know what is causing your problem but here is a great resource for fixing audio sync problems. Check it out.

As you can see, there are a couple of ways for fixing this prob.

I did use GKnot for everything, did not touch anything but the default LAME settings (I used the Doom9 settings). No movies were out of sync when I did them with FlaskMPEG too much time ago.
