i know that xmpeg now support deinterlace, but i can't seem to figure out which option to use(swap, weave, bob, shift, greedy, or 2-frame) or how high to set the motion sensibity; unless there a guide somewhere, can someone please help me?

at least for me the new deinterlace support isn't so great, I general u should set the threshold somewhere between 0-5 (at least I got noticeable different results with this settings).

I agree. Yesterday I had to encode an DVD that is interlaced, and the options in Xmpeg are of little use. Only with one of them, and a threshold of 1 I saw a little effect on the interlacing.
I tried the old FlaskMPEG deinterlacing and it worked well, so I'm using FlaskMPEG for this one. It's painfully slow, but ...
