I have some videos that I got off of Grokster, and I am wondering how I would go about removing the subtitles? I have been unable to do so with Microsoft media player - the toggle for subtitles doesn't do anything. I suspect that the subtitles were actually encoded into the video, and not added/put on to the bottom?

I'm new to this, so I hope I didn't confuse the issue even more. Any help would be appreciated.

Anything you do is going to cause you to lose some detail but if the subtitles are in the black (if it is a 16:9) you can simply crop the black bars off. If they are on the actual movie, well......
