i get an error about 82 percent through, when "building program chain index" in Fair Use on the movie Rush Hour Two. the error goes as follows:

THE PROGRAM CHAIN COULD NOT BE INDEXED
ERROR: a required decryption key could not be found.

I have succeeded in other dvd to divx conversions without a problem, and i cannot figure out the problem. i have reserched , but find very little on this subject. i am currently tring to use dvd decrypter to decrypt to my hard drive, but sure enough i see that it has had a read error at 82%... i have looked up "rush HOur Two" and see that peaple have had no problems with this!!? what could be the problem , do i need a different dvd rom (my current is a COMPAQ DVD ROM SD-608).

ps, what are people using now instead of FAIR USE? is FU still the best?

I don't have FU answers, as I've never used it. Here's a thread that may help regarding the FU's current direction.

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22621

Doom9's guides include ratings and judgements of a wide variety of tools. I recommend his guides for ..(ahem).. guidance.

For DivX3, you can learn about FlaskMpeg, Gordian Knot, Mpeg2Avi, Nandub, and Fair Use.

For DivX4, you can learn about Xmpeg, Gordian Knot, DivX4log, Virtual Dub and VFAPI..he also has a Linux ripping guide.

For DivX5 and XviD, he has guides that use Gordian Knot as a calculator for input with Virtual Dub.

There's also a set of DVD decryption guides there, too.

I hope this helped you!
