Im going to do a few DivX 5 encodes tonight, is the pyschovisual option stable enough to use now? What's the best setting to use? I want to avoid any artifacts so if they still appear i think i'll leave it off.
Thanks,

I did a 2-CD encoding of Gandhi @ 576x(whatever GordianKnot says is a multiple of 16) in Divx 5.01 with GMC, b-frames, and psychovisuals on (light or medium, I can't remember). I got a shitframe every 10-20 minutes. I didn't have this problem with Clear and Present Danger, which I did with 5.01 but no psychovisuals, just GMC and b-frames.

I'm not sure if there are more reports of this happening, and I can't guarantee that the shitframes were caused by the psychovisuals and not by 5.01, or something else. However, I've NEVER seen a shitframe in my encodes before, so I certainly don't think psychovisuals are worth it yet.

I have no problems with pyschovisuals in my encodes. Light, normal or strong, no probs here.

Remember to include pyschovisuals in your first pass... or it wont work
