I've been working on a filter to address a problem I've found in my analog source. I've seen some caps around that exhibit the same problem, so I thought I'd make it public.
The problem the filter is supposed to correct is 2x2 pixel compression artifacts found at the edges of small areas of intense colors - most commonly red. There's a picture on the website that shows the problem. I'm calling it the Dancing Block Remover (http://members.verizon.net/~vze3kkvm/dancingblockremover.html) because the blocks change position every frame creating a very annoying shimmering effect.
It's still a WIP, but hopefully will be of use to some people. If your source has this problem, you know how annoying it is and I don't know of any other way of dealing with it.
Feedback and suggestions for improvement appreciated.
