Hi all, i was reading the doom9's DVD2AVI guide about DVD ripping and want to follow that method, in the past i've already use it (with some variations) successfully.

Dunno if this is related to the problems i have but recently i've done a new complete XP installation changing my Partition Table from FAT32 to NTSC of course i've re-installed all the software needed for rip and ASPI 4.70 (in the previous XP installation i had 4.60 first and then upgraded to 4.70). In the beginning i had some probs with Smartripper & ASPI 4.70 infact the prog told me it was not able to unlock the dvd, so i've re-installed ASPI 4.60 but after that Smartripper still didn't work and aspichk gave me a red background screen, i had to exec DVDDecrypter first and then Smartripper again to solve the problem. Now every time XP boot aspichk give me again the red screen saying me "ASPI is properly installed, but one of the helper drivers has failed to initialize (0xE3)" so i have to exec Smartripper again and aspichk switch to green.

WHAT I DID
I did rip using Smartripper 2.41, after that i've created .d2v project excluding audio processing, 4 the audio i've used instead graphedit (from doom9), after encoded the video using cce 2.50 (frameserving from an .avs file created with FitCD) i've multiplexed all the stuff with BBMpeg.

PROBLEM 1
Listening the audio extracted with graphedit (both alone and multiplexed with the video part) i heard volume suddenly going low (very very low) in complex scenes (the film i try is Jurassic Park 3) and then progressively return to the normal level. It seems that 224 kbit i've used 4 audio quality is not enough 4 play the sound peak of particular scenes. Extracting audio i've followed the doom9 guide and in the past i did it many times with graphedit and the sound was always OK…maybe i've got to check my new graphedit installation? Any suggestion? Is this a demo version with limitations?

PROBLEM 2
When i saw the graphedit problem i've tryed extracting audio with besweet (both new versions and old one, using different gui), alway i was not able to do it using the .lst file Smartripper created in the rip pass. Of course i did check besweet log and it says "Error 57: Error opening "C:\…\Film\JP" infact this directory don't exist the .lst file seems ok even if i rename (as i did) the directory name it doeasn't work. Any advice about why besweet refuses
