Hello. I am having a weird problem here. Or at least I think it's a problem. Every DVD rip that I have done came out with 32khz audio. I use headac3he to convert the ac3 to 128kbits ABR MP3. I don't do any resampling. The resulting MP3 has a sample rate of 32khz. Any ideas why this is? I was using headac3he version 0.22b at the time. I have 0.23. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try using Headac3he to decode to wav, and see what the sample rate is there. If it is 32, than your copy of headac3he is FUBAR, otherwise check your LAME settings

I believe this is controlled by LAME depending on your requested bitrate. Although I thought it only resampled to 44kHz for 128kbps:confused:

Oops. I made a mistake in my original post. I usually use 96kbs ABR mp3s, not 128kbs. Now is there anyway to keep the sample rate at 48khz for either 128kbs or 96kbs mp3s? Thanks for the input.

Yes. --alt-preset 96 --resample 48 but you have to use Lame.exe and the quality sucks IMO.
The limits for lame to not resample are: at 48 Khz, 119 Kbps and at 44.1 Khz, 103 Kbps; but I think lame resamples for a very good reason.
OGG Vorbis will be better for a 96 Kbps track.;)
