View Full Version : VIDEO_TS plays on settops but not IfoEdit's DVD player

I have been making compilation DVDs with IfoEdit that seem to work well on settop DVD players. Yet, when I test my VIDEO_TS with IfoEdit's DVD player before burning, it often locks up the player when fast forwarding.

Here is a brief summary for my working method for making compilation DVDs:

1. Join the files together with VobEdit
2. Create a new IFO set for the VOBs with IfoEdit
3. Reset the navigation pointer in the VOBs (see my settings at: http://www.geocities.com/editdvds/step6/reset_pointers.htm )
4. Get VTS sectors with Ifo Edit.
5. Burn with Nero 5.7.7.8

Am I missing something that is causing IfoEdit to choke on the VIDEO_TS?

For anyone who is interested, a full description of how I make compilation DVDs can be found at:

Might be a problem with the DirectX on your system, cause my player is made with DirectX8.1 SDK, and uses DirectX 8.0 modules.

I have also had this same problem in the past, I have found that if you load the main movit ifo file and go to vob extras and just choose the two tabs: "Correct Vob-Unit and the Correct IFO tables"
and then let it do its thing then you can view the movie with ifo edit and ff and it will not lock up, I thought that it was me doing something wrong, it would be nice not to have to do that extra step. I always have it checked in the beginning also.
