Everything seems to be fine, I understand the aspect ratio problems. My only problem is that it plays my divx files jerky. It plays back DVD's just fine. The only Thing I can think of that might be causing the problem are the B-Frames, but the specs say it shouldn't be a problem. Any ideas?

May be because of GMC and 1/4 pixel, you can read at the end of that document: http://www.sigmadesigns.com/pdf_docs/xcard_brochure.pdf

So you better don't use those two.

And the files must be made with DivX 4.02 or later...

all of the file were made with divx 5.0 and 5.0.1 and no GMC or Qpel, just b-frames.

I understand... well, that means, that card is not that interesting after all. I wanted to buy one, but if it is so, my newer DivX creations won't work on it, since I use Bidirectional encoding & GMC definitely.

I sold my Xcard because of the jerky playback and lack of custom aspect ratios....

I tried both 4.12 and 5.0 (no bframes, gmc, qpel, etc)...just standard encodes with default settings @2-pass 1800kpbs and ac3 audio (interleaving set to 128/128)...I never got fluid playback. It was always jerky. Might have had something to do with the AC3 interleaving, but I didn't feel like screwing around, when I have beautiful playback using BSPlayer, Radeon7500, vga->component transcoder->XBR Wega...

What audioformat / interleave settings are you using?

Cheers,

Rich
