why so many tools?

First, I would like to thank Derrow, LIGHTNING UK!, and all of the other programers that have made such great tools. I am just getting the hang of using them (kind of). But I was wondering why the programers arent working together to create one really great tool. I can envision a program that would extract the dvd much like DVD Decrypter of Smartrip, then allow you to play each VOB ID one at a time, then ask you if you would like to keep the VOB ID. If you decide to delete it the InfoEdit funtionality jumps in and updates the info file.

This would be the best interface I could think of. I was working on Heist and there is only the video_ts.nfo and vts_01.nfo (this is from memory so it might be a bit wrong but the jist is right). Using Voberator I could see that the warning was in VOB 6. But because there was no info file for this VOB I couldnt figure out how to get rid of it. I cant delete VOB 6 because it contains part of the movie, but it also contains the trailer and the FBI warning. How else can I go about this?

If I could just view the vob as I do with voberator and then select to delete that vob id that would be amazing.

why so many tools? you can possibly imagine how complicated it is even to create "simple" programs like dvd decrypter and ifoedit? and they're being created in the free time of lightning_uk and derrow respectively. They both have a regular day job and a regular life to live besides coding.. if you want a professional program you usually have to hire professional programmers and pay them a good wage ;)

now.. it's impossible to have a vob set without an associated ifo.. if the filename was vts_06_x.vob then necessarily the vob id can be found and deleted opening and stripping vts_06_0.ifo.

Im am in no way belittling the great efforts of the coders. They have done a great job as I attempted to express. I know that these programs are not simple and am very greatful for their efforts. All I was trying to get at is a suggestion that they work together and integrate their efforts to create one program that performs all of the functions. I also suggested an interface that I thought would be helpful. It was only a suggestion.


As for the vobs and info files I think I have it figured out after Re-Re-Reading the guides (hey, there is a lot to learn). Ill have to check the structure again tonight when I get home.

there seems to be a one in all Toll which is called DVD2DVDr but i havnt tested it some guys in our german forum say it is useful!

Anyone know of another program like info edit with a public source code? I dont think the source for Voberator is public but VobDec is (though I havent tried it). And the source for vstrip is also public.
