Hi there..

Why should we waste our time by trying and developing product a , b , c etc...
I want to start a poll considering which projects should get the most attention..

e.g. live video streaming

1. mpeg4ip (http://mpeg4ip.sourceforge.net)
2. videoLAN (http://www.videolan.org)
3. FFMpeg (http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net)

Each of these projects has pros and cons, and it would take a long time, to wait until one of these fullfills ALL of our wishes..
So wouldn't it be better to merge these projects. so that we would finally have a realtime streaming solution for
mpeg 1/2/4, ogg/vorbis.
with some handy tools for audiograbbing to aac/vorbis, mpeg4 encoding from dvd,, and ,,and,, and..
afterwards we could get things clear for homebuild standalone players based e.g. on linux.
So lets get clear what we want, and who is gonna build what aspect.
We already have a lot of very useful things, but not yet the final solution.

i will try to get the developers to this topic (if they aren't yet reading this great forum *G*).

People work on separate projects because they want to.

Try to force developers to do what you want, and you'll see them leave in droves.

IMHO :)

Just wanted to bring all people to one table, maybe one of the developers even wants to work together *G*..

Those projects you describe have very different goals, & will be motivated by different things....

...Although in an ideal world, perhaps you are correct. In this world, the merging would never happen. IMHO.
