Hey,
I got this strange ripping results; When a text shows in the movie (like a name of some1) it will only show like 3/4 of the text.
The rest of the qual is very good beside this error...
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Are the 'texts' positioned at the bottom? Perhaps you just cropped too much?

Swede,
Yeah, the text r at the bottom. I used autocrop in Gkont and I dont think Gknot can crop too much...a bug?

Well, if the texts only show up after a while in the movie and they're 'outside' (below) the movie GKnot can really see them..
You have to scroll the movie until you find a frame *with* the texts and manually adjust the bottom.

Does this means i have to encode the whole 2-pass encoding all over again? :( damn....
The big pic is the original DVD (I dont know but the dvd pic wont show), the small one is the DivX rip; notice 1958 only show 3/4th.
This is so un cool:mad:

Hi-
From experience I've found the Auto-crop in GKnot doesn't work so well sometimes. I'd crop the black bars manually and then Smart Crop Left-Right to insure no more of the bottom gets cut.
I have seen movies (Fist Of Legend) where the writing actually extends into the black bars. Since, in my opinion, you want to get rid of the black bars at all costs (and there wasn't much writing anyway), then that was the price I had to pay.

manonom,
Thanks, i'll keep that in mind ;)
There arent that much writting in this movie too and its not that gknot cropped the half of it...U can still read the text very well showing only 3/4. But it just doesnt feel right, so i re-encoded it:D

lol I had the same problem with that movie!! The same goes for the Rurouni Kenshin Movie. I ended up encoding those parts separately to keep the text and encode the rest of the movie without black bars. It worked pretty well.

Hi DL-
Yeah-if I were doing it today, I'd do it as you did. But I didn't know as much then. By the way Dali-check your PM-the server's open.
