I create my avis with DivX5 and i add ac3 to them.

Can i play them with Power DVD 4.0XP so that it can decode the ac3 with its 6channel decoder? (not to output the ac3 via spdif!)

Whenever i try it, it just plays a sound like "ssssssssssssss"
while the video plays fine.

Is there anything i can do?

OOOOh.... something else
can i watch my subtitles too?
if yes, which type of files does it recognize?
i use .SRT subtitles but vobsub is also fine.

Thankz

No, you can;t, powerdvd sucks as a divx viewer it wotn suport many formats including ac3, it won't maintain aspect ratio unelss it's baked into the file at full screen.....it has a lot of problems...use microdvd enstead, it's like powerdvd for divx :-)

Menu's subtitles, multiple audio tracks, chaptering, etc etc
then you can use the intervideo codec...or hot wire it usign graphedit to use the powerdvd decoder so i'm told.
