My standalone player will not play MP3`s. However, is there an easy way to convert Mp3 files into the correct format for then burning onto a (S)VCD disk.

I am aware that there is a template for use with TMPG, in which you can load one mp3 file at a time, convert it to MPEG audio along with a dummy video track, and then burn these using something like VCDeasy, which will give around a maximum 3-5hr audio CD as a result.

The problem is though that process is a bit long winded, being only one at a time, if you have more than just a few audio mp3`s to convert.

Is there an easier way to do this, with multiple file processing ? An easy batch file processor ? The main point being, the source material is mp3.

vcd audio is usually mp2.

BeSweetGUI can do batch processing of mp3 to mp2 conversions.

Hmm, thanks for that. I`m obviously missing something though, or my glasses are incredibly fogged up, since I just cannot find an option that gives direct _MP3 > MP2_ in Besweet ( which I already had installed ). I can find AC3 > MP2, and WAV > MP2, and other variants on converting to MP3 etc..but not the one I`m looking for.

Am I that blind ??

Arrrrrr!! I worked out how to convert a single MP3 file, using the "??? to MP2 button". However, having opened the batch mode window following selection of the Besweet button, its still confusing me. MP3 files refuse to drag and drop. The little drag and drop icon on the cursor says "plus", but the files do not appear in the window.

As a test, dragging and dropping WAV files works perfectly. They appear in the list with no problem. Drag MP`3s, no matter how many, and the batch mode list window remains empty.

Hmmm....

On the other point, if the original MP3`s bitrate is 128, does converting it to a 128 MP2 result in any loss ?

Aha, I assume given the renaming of this thread, that the title speaks for itself :-)

Look forward to a fix for this problem asap.

I Haven't Had Time to Check Batch Mode.
After I'll Finish Adding/Fixing Profiles Support for BeSweet I'll Check it Out...
