I've got an X-Files DVD here that I'm planning to rip. Depending on which episode, the content is about 10-20% NTSC and the rest FILM. Watching in DVD2AVI's Preview mode (side note: at 50fps, Mulder and Scully look really ODD :D) I see that everything's Progressive *except* the Title sequence, which is Interlaced. I don't see any Interlacing artifacts, but the title sequence is very noisy anyhow, so my quake-corrupted vision might not be spotting them...

In this case, can I just run Force FILM on it, or would it be better to use Decomb with Telecide() and Decimate(cycle=5) ? Or am I complete moron and missing the right answer altogether? :D

I think, you better use Telecide/Decomb or you may use IVTC 2.2 with the following command:
ivtc(32,11,120)

This work much much better than the default settings (40,10,15) or (32,8,15).
