VCDs With Audio Set To 48 Khz

I know that DVD players can play SVCDs with the audio sampling rate set to 48 Khz but can a DVD player also play a VCD that is encoded at a audio sampling rate of 48 Khz?

I know that VCD's standard says that it should be set to 44 Khz but I have SVCDs that are encoded at 44 Khz and want to convert to a VCD and keep the audio portion untouched.

Keep in mind, anything that's out of the (S)VCD spec is just that--out of spec. Your mileage may vary, and really the only way to know is to try it out. Just don't distribute the discs/mpegs/iso and expect them to work on everyone elses players.

Probably it will work. Many DVD players are very lenient on what they will play back because for the most part it's just an mpeg stream.
