I have had some problems with encoding Dune (the three disk recent TV version, PAL). From what I gather in the window in DVD2AVI, it is interlaced. So I set it to smart deinterlace in GordianKnot, and after it is encoded, I see shadowing and it looks really bad. So then I try to make SVCD with DVD2SVCD and it comesout with shadowing, and then I try no deinterlacing with DIVX 5 and it comes out with shadows. My question is how the heck am I supposed to deinterlace so that It does not come out with shadows?!?!?
I have tried all the forms of deinterlace in GordianKnot, and the smart deinterlace filter in Virtual dub, and non of these are acceptable. Is there anyway that you can I can make this encode look as good as my other two disk encodes where the sorce is progressive?
Thanks.
P.S. Now I know why you guys say that us pal guys have it good when it comes to our progressive sources....
