hello everybody
can anyone tell me, if there are special command line params for the azid box in goardian knot for converting dolby digital 2/0 or can i use the ones taken from the guide (-z1 -b1 -c normal -L -3db) ???

there is no special command for it, the same command works for 6ch and 2ch.
You don't even need the special command, I use only:
-c normal
for all kind of ac3!
NB: your question was false, not "how to encode?" but how to decode ;)

You're both wrong :-) It's Transcode :-)
though you're both right to, as to hwo to (re)encode a 2/0 stream keeping it the same, and how to decode it, same thign nearly.
You dont even need the -c normal, cus ther eis no senter chanal, but having it wont hurt.

@ Antimon
AC3 -> MP3 is transcoding
AC3 -> WAV is decoding ;)
And -c normal has nothing to do with the center channel, it makes a normal dynamic range compression. If I used -c light, I would get a light DRC ;)

hi,
what about the -L option...
lame docu says: 'This controls the downmix-level of the LFE channel into the LR channels.'
is this necessary?
am i right -> dolby digital 2/0 has only L/R channel?

As said, you only need -c normal in any case anyhow, the -L -3db ist just an option you could ignore with any type of AC3
And with DD2.0 input, there is no LFE channel, so an -L option is completely senseless here! remark this: when there is .1 there is an LFE channel, when .0 there is no LFE channel
So 5.0 has no LFE channel
5.1 has an LFE channel
The same for:
2.0: no LFE channel
2.1: there is LFE channel

It seems you are professional in DolbyStereo encoding.
Well , I have a very bad problem. So I wanna share that with you. Maybe you can solve it.
When I wanna encode a stereo wave to an AC3 , with SonicFoundry , seems the encoding is successfull. But when I play that , I see the result is very bad. Let me tell you exactly what I do.
I split the AC3 2.0 from DVD. Decode that to a stereo wav. Open the wave in cooledit. Then I replace the voices with my dubbed voices. After that , I mix down everything to another stereo wave. The result is fine when I play that with cooledit. So I import it to SonicFoundry to encoding an AC3 2.0 After a while , it says the encoding was successfull.
So I play that and I see the result is not ok.
I am confise on it. Because the sound is fine when I play the wave , but when play the AC3 , I see the result is not ok.
The problem is this. The sounds and effects is ok , but when the voices starts , immediatly the volume fells down very bad. after it finished , the volume comes back to normal. It happens from start of the AC3 to end of that. But there is no problem when the Wave is playing with cooledit. Do you have any idea ?
If you want , I can send you a sample of this ac3 to understand what I meant.
Thanks in advance

Well, I'm not a professional, but I'll try to help you anyway :D
You may deactivate Dynamic Range compression and see what happens
