Hi everybody. I haven't found the answer to this: what particulary the words in DVD2SVCD users references(both)CD image section mean:

No PBC no chapters, might display time of svcd for some dvd players.

After couple of mistakes, i have found, that only enabling this setting (No PBC) in image tab, made my Yamaha S520 show time correctly , DVD chapters and subs are also working fine.No title pictures of course, but i can do without it. It seems, it's impossible to make all features work on every standalone player. So what does it mean : No PBC - no chapters?
Thanks

Hi Blogas,

as you already found out it is nearly impossible to create a SVCD that plays perfectly on every standalone.

Usually chapters are only working if you use one of the PBC (Picture Playback Control) options and sure the title and change CD pics also.

But some players do not show the time properly when using PBC but show them when not using PBC. So you have to decide what's your preference on that.

If your player is able to skip through chapters without PBC (No PBC) then you're some kind of lucky. ;) My Toshiba for example cannot skip through chapters then.

Greetings,
Gerti

Thanx, Gerti67, for your reply. I have forgot to mention 1 more thing: i am able to open menu on my standalone (change audio, subs , etc.) only when i cretate images with NO PBC or if i turn off PBC function on my DVD player.

And time is not shown correctly if track is more than 40 min long. But track plays with no problems to the end.

Have heard, that PHILIPS players have same problem. Maybe my Yamaha= Philips? Maybe it can't show time > 40 min at all? Have searched for some new firmware or info .No results.

Greetings.
