crappy Elecard avi & mpg demuxers - how to remove?

I recently installed the Elecard mpeg2 codec and demuxer, from the download section. However it has a very crappy decoder which causes skipping and other kinds of shit.

Anyway, I want to remove it. But how?. I can't find it anywhere (well, I can't find it) in windows 2000, so I plead you to help me. Free me from fast-forwarding avi's and stuttering mpeg's.

To remove the codec (this from memory, not on w2k right now):[list=1]
Open control panel
Open Sound and Multimedia applet
Click on Hardware tab
Find codec
Delete

I already tried that, its not there. And its not a codec either.
Its troublesome, and it sucks.

what's wrong with that codec... It works for me. Mayeb you have a slower computer? If you want to view mpg-2 content load it up in intervideo winDVD, that works also and intervideo is a good decoder

Here's an easy way of getting rid of pesky DShow filters. You will need:

a) Command prompt
b) Graphedit

First, load Graphedit and go to "Graph" -> "Insert Filters". Then open up the submenu "DirectShow Filters". Scroll for filters you want to remove, in this case the Elecard ones. Click on the plus signs next to the filters to get some information on them. Make a note of the contents of the "Filename:" line.

Then start up the Command Prompt. Go to [drive]:\[WinRoot]\SYSTEM32, for example C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\. Then type:

regsvr32 /u [filename]

You should get a dialog saying that the filter was unregistered. No more hassle :D

Thanks. Now there's no more choppy playback, however I've just deleted my only way of viewing mpeg2.
