View Full Version : "Read Beyond End of File" Error

Newbie here. I keep getting the error message that says "Read Beyond End of File" after the audio conversion is done. I've tried this on a couple movies and keep getting the same message. I've tried searching the forum, but can't find any references to this type of error. If there's already a post, could you point me to it, or if you're familiar with this, could you lend me a hand.

I'm running Windows XP on a presario 700 with an amd duron 900mhz, 256mb ram.
I'm using dvd2svcd version 1.0.8 build 1 and cce version 2.50.1

I've been trying on a couple movies, the one i've tried several times is Happy Gilmore - 1.33:1, ntsc - 1, 1hour, 32 min.

It seems to be running pretty fast, it only takes me around an hour to get to this point, but its pretty obvious i still have something set up wrong. My log is below - it has two runs listed, but i left them both in just in case it would help.

Thanks in advance for the help. KG

Try opening CCE manually and see what happens.
You did install CCE and not just put the executable in a directory?
Just for grins click and show DVD2SVCD where CCE is again.

Once you get this fixed some hints. Raise your audio bitrate 128 bites. I use 192 Minimum and 224 as often as possible. Some use as low as 160, but I never would.

Tell me what happens with these things. I am interested to find out what happened.

Mark

Almost forgot. Great first post. You have obviously read around and everything I would need is here. I don't have to ask you for anything.

Bravo!

Thanks Markrb, you were correct - i had not properly installed cce. Ran it last night - took about 10 hours, but I'm watching it right now and it looks great. I did change the audio bitrate to 192 and it sounds pretty good. I appreciate the help. Looks like I've found myself a new hobby. Thanks again. kg
