I saw this question posted before but no answer was given. How can you do a Divx 4 Comp check AFTER you have installed Divx 5. I have the utility to do a Divx 5 check but would like to use Divx 4 (for comparison reasons) but can't get the comp check to work.

I've use the inf script to be able to use Divx 4 and 5 at the same time. I was trying to compare a single chapter off a dvd and i set the file size to 15mb. I can encode fine using both divxs. But when I try to do a comp check with divx 4 selected I get a "Error opening log file" type error.

If you are able to do a divx5 comp.test manually (without the help of the inf file), you can just do the same using divx4 (only you don't need to edit the log file before opening).

I don't think compressibility differs that much from divx5 without pro-option, so it's not really worth it.

for a DivX 4 Comp.Check, after you installed DivX 5, you need to deinstall both (DivX 4 & 5) and then install DivX 4 again and
you can make a Comp.Check. with this.

I take it then that installing Divx 5 (even using the utility that allows both to work) must overwrite certain files that GK uses? Since I have both installed now - just reinstall Divx 4? Will try that and let you know results - Thanks
