I just did a long overdue reformat of my HD. Aside from some programs I haven't installed yet, my setup is exactly the same as it was before. I am running VDub 1.4.10 this time instead of 1.4.9 but all my drivers, etc should be the same as they were before.
On my first capture attempts, I couldn't keep the CPU load much under 100% and I was dropping frames like crazy. Then I remembered to turn on DMA :). But when I stop the capture, my machine locks up in the worst way (as in "just give up and flip the power switch"). It doesn't seem to matter what codec I'm using (Huffy or PicVideo). It doesn't lock up every time, but about half the time.
My setup is:
IBM PIII/450Mhz
ATI AIW 128
integral ESS sound
Windows ME (I know, I know, it's all I've got!)
VDub worked flawlessly before the reinstall, any ideas?
let me know if any more info would help...
