I have a clean install w98 machine.
I have installed:
* oggDS-0.9.9.0
* SubTitDS-1.1.2.2
* XviD-12042002-1 (koepi)
* MediaPlayer 6.4
* DirectX 8.1

I have mixed a Xvid-video + ogg-audio + srt-subtitle
using oggmux 8.1 -- All goes ok
when I play the file .. I got no subs...and tries to connect to Internet to download a codec, I don't have Internet acces from the machine, what else do I need to display subs?
because when I mux only video+audio, the ogm plays correctly and don't need the "extra codec", by the way, do I really need it ? and which is it? so I can dl an take it home

never trust in wmp ;)
there is no codec missing.
afaik subds works only under 2k/xp, so i would make "a clean install w2k machine"
:D

hofmetzger is right. It's a known bug of SubTitle filter.

Yep Tobias is developing on XP if I am not mistaken. Although he has been working on compatability for everyone still not using NT.

I hope that I won't be killed in this forum for doing it ;) ... but you can use Gabest's DirectVobSub2.13 package to display ogm-subtitles on Windows98 systems. Just right-click on the little green arrow in the lower right corner and select the tracks you need.
