good player replacing wmp

hi,

since i'm having problems playing divx files on wmp 8 after installing divx 5.0.1 pro i'm looking for a new player to replace wmp completely.

can anyone recommend a good player to take care of divx files and a good player to take care of all the different media files (mainly movies)

a very good replace for the WMP 8 is ZoomPlayer 2.50,

I liek microdvd, but as it uses the wmp 6.4 engine it prolly wotnbe any better for you

give mplayer2.exe (WMP 6.4) a try. If you're using winXP, it's located at C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe

When I had problems with WMP8 and DivX4.12, mplayer2 played the files properly.

a good all-in-one solution is hard to find espically for free, youll have to settle for a few softwares instead of one , now lets sum up the possibilities

if you want the best (most accurate extraction possible) and willing to settle speed for quality then go with EAC and configure it properly (drive offsets espically) , otheriwse use cdex

for burnning audio cds burrrn would be best IMO

a good all in one audio solution (ripping/burnning audio and mp3 cds,converting between diffrent formats) is easy cd-da extractor, but its not free

Mplayer based (with SMplayer and MPUI front ends) - complete stand alone package

VLC - complete stand alone package

Media player classic AKA MPC (looks similar to old WMP), with dshow codecs (ffdshow is enough usually)
