As you split a DVD9 into two DVD-R you get lots of unused space, so I decided to add other things on that, but the resulting DVD does not play on a desktop player.I have three directories in my DVD: AUDIO_TS, VIDEO_TS and DVDROM.
Why it does not work? Is there any way to correct that?
I've seen lots of DVDs with DVDVideo features (with AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS) and DVD-ROM features at the same time. How do they manage?

Notice that what I have in my DVDROM directory is another AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS directories. Is that a problem?

Is there any place where I get get general rules for this?

Strange. No that should not be the problem.

I guess the problem is your burning tool!
I've successfully created such DVDs using VOB Instant 6.0
With VOB Instant it's quite easy, and there's no rules for you to worry about.
Just add the folder and/or files and let it burn.

Yes, I used Nero, but I have VOB Instant 6.0 as well and I've tried and I failed too. So, can you please explain how exactly you did it?
Thanks.
