On DVD player the picture is jerky too when I use the anamorphic setting (16:9 tag set in the encoded stream). I am beginning to regret I put it in. In fact I think I'll remove it from the Normal Level of dvd2svcd and only have it present when Advanced Level is selected.

I've done a couple of backups and everything was perfect, leave it a bit longer b4 hiding it away.
One comment When I choose this option and ran off 2 different 1 chapter tests. 1 had dvd full screen in the resize option and the other had SVCD, they both had 16:9 no borders anamorphic selected.
On my Cyberhome player they both played perfectly and both looked exactly the same size wise. Is the SVCD resize option for ppl who have trouble with their standalone players playing full size anamorphic backup ?
