Well i once posted here a nasty problem ive got with my Live 5.1 under Win2k and XP. It was the stutter problem when i was playing AC3 Divx Movies over SPDIF OUT. Cuz the problem only occurs when it is set to SPDIF out it must be somewhere in the built in ac3 dec of the creative drivers. Well my Question is, how can I activate the rest of the options under the intervideo audio dec like 5.1 speaker, 4 speaker etc. There is always 2 Speaker or Spdif available (and i tried various iviaudio.ax, maybe someone has one that works fine). I want to do this because 5.1 cards like the Terratec SixPack5.1 don't have such a thing as built in ac3 dec in their drivers, they only use the dec capabilities of the audio encoders in the DVD Playback Soft, and they still work if you use them under the option 5.1. Spdif ist only used if you have an external ac3 decoder. Unless im completly wrong with this whole thing...plz help me.

You'll see a few reasons in the FAQ why this might not be possible for your sound card. Note at the bottom of the FAQ, I don't suggest using any type of Creative card for many many reasons. I'll spare you my rants.

Spdif ist only used if you have an external ac3 decoder. This is absolutely correct;)

i tried various iviaudio.ax, maybe someone has one that works fine I've seen this very statement posted numerous times, especially recently. The bottom line is, Intervideo is not supporting your cards multi-channel capabilities. Using the same filter that you and everyone else on this board has downloaded, I have no problems making 2,4,6 and SPDIF work on both my Zoltrix Nightingale and Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card. My point is the filter is multi-channel capable depending on your sound card.

Perhaps you can have a look here (http://alive.singnet.com.sg/tech/passthrough.htm) also and maybe find some pointers.

Don;t go dissing the creative cards now :-)

Mine has never let me down yet my sb pci 64/128 or sblive 5.1 xgamer :-)

But i pass everything though spdif including my mp3's etc, so the 4 speaker/6speaker options are useless to me :-)

However if i had a differnt amp, i'd most likly be singing a differnt tune from what i've been hearing

k i will try your hints...but the point is that the whole options are supported in windvd itself...they're only missing in bsplayer. so i guess my soundcard supports all this stuff.

one more thing...maybe i should try the cinemaster decoder for the audio output. do you maybe have this dec for me? i should at least give it a try...

ahh...so if you are seeing the multi-channel options in WinDVD then you should be seeing them in BSPlayer as well. Actually, thats not entirely true. The new 3.1.x version of WinDVD no longer depend on the iviaudio filters in the system filter, instead the filters are actually within the C:\Program Files\Intervideo\...

Here's what I suggest for the above scenario. Unregister all the Intervideo filters from within your system folder. After that, register the filters from the path I mention above, careful not to move them or WinDVD may not work. It's worth a shot I guess.

My understanding is that the ATI DVD player is based upon Cinemaster. Maybe you could download this and give it a shot but I don't think it's going to help your situation.

Well you might try the obvious site, ATI's home page.

After that I'd be inclined to use www.google.com

i did now what youve told me. i installed windvd 3.1 and registered the filters. now i can choose 5.1 speaker output...but it dont work like 5.1. die center isnt active and its working like a 2 channel dolby surround output.

i tested the divx file in windvd itself and its working there, but not in bsplayer, why?

Well this about the 3rd post I've read where Creative SB owners are having the center channel dropped. Perhaps it's a driver issue? I'm not sure. Center channel works fine here though.

hmm it isnt dropped in windvd itself...so it should work in bsplayer too...maybe a player problem. gonna check out some other players.

already thnx for your help solving the major problem...seems not to stutter anymore :)

Your welcome:)

I think the BSplayer issue is because it's still using the old filters somewhere on your drive.
