DVD to VCD audio synching problem

Im working on the Evangelion Perfect Collection and have gotten as far as Disc 2 with no errors.

Im haveing a synching issue now.

I use Tmpgenc to create the final .mpg file

Ive read tutorials for synching but i have not found anything that mention mpg rather than divx or avi files.

I extract the vobs using smartripper
i extract the audio via dvd2avi creating a project

i don't know if this will help, but for me, the problem with out-of-synch audio is usually the differences between the length of the audio and video file.


Example: video length: 20:49.768
audio length: 20:49.590

now .178 of a second would be how much the audio is out of synch with the video; to find out the length of the video load it into virtualdub, and the audio into any sound editing program; this is the easy-s way for me to fix any out-of synch video (per episode).
