I was just wondering if this would be possible, cause as I figured it out, DivX encodes have better quality than SVCD (MPEG-2) encodes, so anyone can recommend me any set-up to use to get the wanted result? By the way, I'm using SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, VirtualDub/NAndub, VobSub, TMPGEnc, BeSweet bbMPEG and Nero as a "ripping package"..thanx ;)

That's easy:
1. You've never seen a really good SVCD ;)
2. Read the forum rules!
3. Following 2.: Read the guides, then ask!
anyway...

Well, actually I'm ripping according to Doom9's guides.. I'm using the DVD2AVI w/TMPGEnc guide, which i think is the most adequate and most configurable, but I still get inferior results comparing to the DivX4 encode..Knowing that I can't set the resolution higher, I "hit" the bitrate, so I went up to 1850kbps average VBR 2-pass, motion search set to high quality (slow) and the max bitrate set to 2500kbps, but the encode sure's missing more sharpness, slow motion parts don't look very good and background ambient too...so I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me any hint or any kind of help what to do to get better quality... thanx alot ;)

Ok, first use CCE encoder. Secondly the max bitrate is 2756 minus your audio bitrate (128 or 192 are good figures). Also as DivX was optomised for low bitrate your going to have to adjust what your expected bitrates are. I get good encodes using 1836 on occasion, but a REALLY REALLY good rip will use about 2000 (your looking to get about 45 mins a CD).
When you use CCE set it to 4 pass vbr. Do the audio with besweet and I'd seriously suggest learning how to use avisynth aswell.
I think that's about all you need for now. Good luck and may the force be with you.
Oh, and if you want to skip the hard way and do things much quicker and simpler, get DVD2SVCD. It uses the above methods, but with a purdy frontend.

Thanx alot dude :) that really helped me alot, but u know, when it comes about CCE, there's a little problem, and you probably know what ;) it's about that logo that appears at the right-bottom part of the screen, so that's why I'm using TMPGEnc.. so, what I wanted to ask is: Does CCE give better results comparing with TMPGEnc with the same settings? thanx again
