Hi everybody. I'm trying to convert a AC3 to vorbis using headac3he. I try to convert it to quality 0 VBR. I do everything like in the everwicked guide. Headac3he crashes as soon as I hit the start button. I'm using Win xp pro on a 1.33ghz athlon. If I resample the sound to 44.1khz it doesnt crash. Any ideas? Thanks for any info.

Are you sure, you have used newest vorbis dlls, and not selected ABR or CBR? The new dlls won't properly work with older HeadAC3he versions.

I'm using the latest dlls. I can use besweet for converting ac3 to ogg. That works fine. I would prefer to use headac3he. Thank you.

Save the settings and send me the ini file. I have no problem using q=0 in VBR. Send me first lines of LOG, as well. (If the log is small, send me all. Esp tell me what is the last line after crashing.)

Are you using the MMX dll? If not, try it.

The MMX vorbis dll worked for me. Thanks a lot!

I guess you have a normal Athlon? Not SSE capable. Next time take a better look at the desciption. I already made it big an yellow...

@ D A,

Maybe this needs to be added to the FAQ also? Though most people are already aware that Athlons don't support SSE. It might save you from a thread like this in the future though:)

@Erbse
I fixed it. (I hope I uploaded it - will check it.)

@MaTTeR
Yeah, you're right I will add it to the FAQ.
