I've been following Doom9's AC3 to MP3 guides, but faced a one problem. The final MP3-file plays too loud. I already browsed older threads concerning the matter, but couldn't find a solution.

I used the very same settings mentioned in the guide (except for Lame, which I set to Alt Preset 192kbps, JStereo, 48KHz). Azid settings were 'LFE To LR Channels: -3db' and 'Dynamic Compression: Light'. Original AC3 (DD 5.1) was extracted by DVD2AVI, and sounded fine while playing it with PowerDVD 3. Movie im working on, is Bryan Singers Apt Pupil.

So I would like to hear what settings I should change in order to get the voice softer.

@DSPguru

I think we need a recording or a macro that responds to these posts. It would save your fingers a bit:D

@vince
Nice movie by the way.

you sure it's not your mp3 playback? nearly all mp3 players have eq...sometimes people forget that and thigns get over amplified.

In any event, 2 things...first off for a 192 kmp3, go with full stereo, you have the bits for it

secondly if it's too loud besweet has settigns to change that just decrease the gain.

anyone who followed the guide was supposed to read this :Last but not least check the Output File LogFile option. Just in case something should go wrong you'll get a lotfile that you can use in your error report so the bug can be fixed (if it truly is one).
