CCE and IFOEDIT (chapters)

I am trying to follow the CCE and IFO edit encoding guide that involves Scenarist.


Why is it necessary to set all the chapters in authoring program when we had to go through all that chapter positions during the CCE configuration before encoding???

Because the guide says that if you don't have multiple audio tracks and subtitles and need simple authoring program, than just skip everything and and set the chapter positions than go directly to Step 5.


I am still trying to find an authoring program that will make a vob set or .img out of the AC3 and m2v file that was created.

I skip the section to set chapters as well. For me, its kind of redundant if I import it into DVD Maestro later on. And, setting chapters in CCE has never worked for me. Hope this helps.

the reason from what i can gather is so that it sets an I frame at that point which is needed for exact chapters. otherwise you will get 5-15 frames off of what you intended.
