Saving DVD files for rip and burn later

Suggestions on the best method please....

I have successfully Ripped&Burned 2 DVD Movies with DVD2SVCD so i know the programmes work really well.

However if the family gets 2 or 3 movies to watch and want don't want to see them in a marathon session, ripping and burning takes about 8 to 18 hours each and obviously they aren't going to wait till i has finished with them.

Can i ?....

1) copy the VIDEO_TS folder and files to may harddrive for proccessing later.
2)Would i mount the Video_ts for Movie 1 (using Deamon tools) to say drive F: and process as usual
3)If this works as normal, apart from the initial copy to HD, is there any suggested tweaks to the BASIC SETTINGS in DVD2SVCD ver 1.07 build 1 to improve the options or too speed up the ripping process.

choose 'Rip Only' with internal routines with 1.0.8 build 1 and use the batch file it creates to process them later. If you only wish to process one dvd at a time then just rem out the other ones temporarily.

i have seen some posts that indicate that 1.8 is not bug free (or as bug free any prog can be) yet so is it best to instale both ver's in different folders. Rip only with 1.8 and then alter the bat file to use 1.7 to process and burn the image?

I think it is most of the operators that have the bugs instead of the program having them.

I don't think 1.0.8 have more bugs than any of the previous releases. Bugs is just another feature of dvd2svcd ;)

I've been using 1.0.8 b1 without any problem. Made use of the new aspect and resizing options and have a couple of fantastic looking 'backups'. Love the imdb integration, double love the nice'n'easy inclusion of the dvd cover as the opening picture on the SVCD. etc. etc.

If for some weird reason you still don't want to use the latest and best version, then it has been mentioned here numerous times b4 that you can start the rip and when the first vob has completed ripping with internal routines, click on the cross to shut dvd2svcd, say yes you are sure. dvd2scvd will then continue the ripping process and when it has finished it will exit. Just get the latest version though.

There are no such things as bugs in DVD2SVCD. There may be some undocumented features, but no bugs.

99% of problems are user related or a user trying to do something the program was never intended to do.
