Hi togehther!

I did some search. But I did not find a workaround....
Seems that opinions are a little bit contradictory.

Could someone help me?

I want to do an AVI2SVCD conversion of an AVI file with the
following properties:

Framesize: 640 x 272
Frames p. sec.: 23,976

Hmm I wonder if that NTSC to PAL button means anything? Actually I don't know if it works for avi's. Also your video size is non standard and may cause DVD2SVCD problems.

Hi mark!

I edit the resize-option in avisynth manually - that works.....

But will the converted movie be "shorter" than the original one?

There was some talk of this awhile back in the SVCD forum and the general thinking was that it would be shorter. I base this on the idea that PAL movies are shorter then their NTSC original by a few percentage points even with studio movies. They don't bother changing anything, but the framerate since the difference is so slight.

PAL movies are 4% (25/24=1,04) shorter (faster) than NTSC. Some people have noticed that audio sounds better with NTSC movies since PAL audio is faster and is resampled to sound like normal again.

INCREDIBLE!

I didn't knew that!

Thanks guys. I took for example " THE MATRIX ":

runtime NTSC 136 min
runtime PAL 131 min
Ratio ~ 1,04

OK! Now conversion can begin.....

So did you use that NTSC to PAL option in D2S?
What does it do anyway?
