encoding audio from VOBs?

I used to encode with Divx;-) and Flaskmpeg. What I'd like to do is to encode video and audio all at once from the VOB files, which was what I would do with Flask, but with Divx4 instead.

All the guides I've read indicate multiple steps of processing audio first to a huge wav file, then combining that with the video file.

Is there an easy way to do all this? I'm willing to compromise quality for speediness.

Flask works with DivX 4, so what is the problem? It will work just like your DivX 3 rips, or you can set up 2-pass but it won't be automatic.
However Kyo is right, Gordian Knot is better, faster and higher quality than Flask which is why I switched. And I actually think it's easier to set up.

The problem of that is that you can´t make a good Dinamic Compresion (in audio) and compress with better quality like the Lame offers, and for the video, GK include a Stats editor that make better the bitrate distribution.
