I've been reading some about all the alternate curve compression tools availible to Xvid. Most of the ones I've seen have just applied static curves to the stat file's output. Some, like Foxer's additions, add a good deal of control. But alot of people find the settings confusing, even when explained pretty well.
I've also been using CCE alot lately, and have come to find the Advanced... button, and the bitrate control it offers to be a much easier form of manipulation than setting a bunch of numbers and hoping the result turns out alright.
Does the Xvid .stats file format contain enough information to do the sort of GOP by GOP tinkering of the content like is availible with CCE .vaf files? I think it would be both easier for all involved to use, allow the finest-grain control for all the Nandub freaks out there, and bring Xvid to a totally new level of customizability.
