I just got my Pioneer DVR-104.

I am fairly new and have been reading the guides. Maybe some of you can help or give me suggestions:

Ok, I can never get the main movie only with DD5.1 track to fit on one DVD-R. So obviously I have to re-encode?

I simply want the single DD5.1 track and the actual movie..

What method do you people recommend.

I see that there are 3 encoding methods.... CCE, ReMPEG, and TMPG. Are these all used for the same reason???

After I use either of those methods.. would I simply use IfoEdit???

I assume that I wouldn't really need an authoring program like Scenarist, since I don't necessarily need to keep the entire disc??

Could someone clear up my confusion. I don't have a clear understanding on the process of copying a DVD.. I just know how to rip it!

Ok when you read the guides carefully you will know what to do.
Perhaps you can tell more about the problem you have?

Not so much as a problem... but more of a confusion.

There are a lot of movies that I have that will need to be re-encoded because they just come out too big even after stripping with IFOEDIT.

So I was wondering... what the best method is. This site lists either the use of TMPG or REMPEG2 VS. CCE. I am not sure what to use in my situation.

I also noticed that the CCE with IfoEdit guide required Scenarist or another authoring program, which I do not have.

Am I am able to just re-encode with CCE and use a simple authoring program to multiplex the AC3 and just make the image file??.. Because I do not need subtitles and multiple audio tracks that the guide suggests.

I just want to some of the menus, the original movie, and 1 single audio track. So I was wondering what is the best method???
