I'm sure this is a VERY subjective question but:

1. What do you consider the MIN Bitrate that you allow before you up the number of CDs. I try to keep the resolution to 512x or higher and try to stay above 800 bitrate. I like doing 1 cd rips and I find that around 90-100 min movies to be about the limit. I've seen a few posts of people using 600 or so.

2. I just ripped my first anime movie (from DVD) and it turned out great. Bitrate was around 950 with a 512x res. No ringing effects or jagged lines. My question here is: I read alot about using quite a few diff filters with anime. I realize that the bicubic resize is one of those filters. Do you find that you need to use any other filters with Gnot? Or are people using these filters mostly with captured anime?

Just love this program. Great job. Everyone of my rips have turned out fantastic:)

Well, it depends on the Anime. Something quiet like Kokoro Library will get by with a small amount of bits, while something like Serial Experiments Lain or the "Brain Scratch" episode of Cowboy Bebop will eat bits like crazy.

Simply go for the "% of first pass" in G-knot. I've done it at 55-60% before with pretty good results.

Filters:
2d cleaner to remove noise
Temporal smoother to remove more noise
whatever subtitler floats your boat for subtitles (if you like them hard-subbed)
warpsharp to sharpen your picture

That's all I can think of, really. Don't forget to IVTC.
