I have only had one rip do this to me, using nandub (short test). I have not had any from GK. I am interested in what causes this in encodings and ways to avoid it. Are these just bad rips?
Is this what a defreezer is for?
Any info appreciated.

Hi,
Using Nandub to encode means you were using DivX 3.11
There were some problems with it (still are) that sometimes the screen would freeze and the audio would keep playing. Sometimes it would unfreeze itself, sometimes you had to move the slider a little yourself.
I never found out why, just a bug in the codec.....there are some utilities that solve it, but why bother?
DivX 5.01 doesn't do this, and has better quality than 3.11....
I would recommend upgrading.

well if your like me you play files in divx 3.11, now there is a filter that stops the freeze frames whichi ithink is in the download section
what causes the freeze frames is corrupt delta frames to the best of my knowledge, so it is not from a bad rip
heres a site that explains whats going on a little better, and the possible ways to fix it, now im very sure it does not mention the divx anti-freeze filter
