Btw,
how to enabling the GKnot DivX 4.12 compressibility check
while DivX 5.x installed.

I've try to install the DivX4.zip which contain .inf and
divx4.dll file, the DivX 4.12 is present now, but the
GKnot still use DivX 5.0 when comp. check.

Is that possible to switch the Divx.dll -> Divx5.dll
and Divx4.dll -> Divx.dll and how to do that especially
when dealing with windows registry.

Thank you.

Solved. Use DivX5 with GKnot 0.23's compression test. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22744

Yes, I know that!

That's not what I'm looking for, I prefer to use DivX 4.12,
not the 5.0.

Thank you.

I asked that in GKnot forum. I didn't have any problems with WinME while there was installed both divx . It worked great , but it stoped. I do not know why. Under WinXP it never worked. I'm still looking for an answer . I'll try to move divx.dll -> divx5.dll and divx4.dll->divx.dll . Anyway , if anyone knows answer ...

You could do the compress check manually
I have not done this since before it became integrated into gnot but I think compress checks still work the same way.

To do this use gnot to save an avs file with compressibility check activated with whatever % you use (press save not now in file menue)

Then open vdub and open your .avs file

Encode using 1 pass divx (divx 4.11) set to max bit rate.

when this is done you need to multiply up the size of the encode of part of the video wich you just made to the size the hole video would be so if you encoded 5% (the number you select in gnot) of the film you would need to multiply by 20 (100/5)

When you have this value normaly 1000mb+ you need to take the size of video you wanted and divided by this value so if i wanted 700 mb of video and id just got 1000mb out of the abouve section then

700/1000 =0.7
0.7*100=70% the number gnot would give in compressibility test
