Hey folks !

I'm not exactly an expert in this whole DVD-rip thing. I've been working with GKnot for a while following the guides by Doom9 and always got great results. (Thanks to TheWEF for this great program and Doom9 for the guides !)

Now I've run into a problem that I could not fix myself with a certain DVD title. I don't know what the english title of the movie is, the translation of the german title would be something like "Silent days at Clichy".

After I ran DVD2AVI I didn't get the usual *.ac3 file(s) but a file named something.mpa. I just followed the usual procedure after that but when it came to encoding, the audio encoding programs gave me a bunch of error messages.

I would greatfuly appreciate any hints that you guys can give me on how to fix this problem !

If you will take a few moments and review this thread:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22744

you will find many explanations and suggestions for why you have an mpa file, and what to do with it.

Here is just one example: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19759&highlight=mpa.

That is the best post I have seen in a long time. I am making a thread in DVD2SVCD Basics and link to it. You are da man.

Please accept my apologies for not using the search-button. How could I ...

Funny reply anyway, should allow me to keep the search button in mind for a while. :)

I didn't have time to check the workarounds from the thread that jggimi mentioned. Hope that it's gonna work ...
