hello everybody,

i wanted to encode my credits with ne new divx5 codec separately. i have some questions about how to do this.

i wanted to do it this way:

first i encode the ac3 stream to mp3 to have the filesize of audio. then via gknot i open the d2v project file and mark the credits. in virtualdub take the avisynth file of the credits and encode them in one pass mode (which of the both 1 pass should i take).
because of i can't setup a quality mode like in gknot... can anybody tell me which settings to use for the credits? what about bitrate, gmc, bidirectional encoding... i know to raise the quants.. what are good values?
ok.. let's assume the credits are done. now i take my cd filesize (700mb) - audio - credits - overhead = filesize for movie. i enter the values, get my bitrate und encode the film in virtualdub. after all.. append the credit und mux the audio stream.

can i go this way? any suggestions of alternatives?

thanx,
flooo

For the credits I suggest quality based 0% with GMC und Bidir. Encoding. (if you're encoding in VD you can select this)

All other things seem right to me

oh... haven't seen, that the slider in the divx cfg changed when selecting 1 pass quality based... ok.. can setup quality %

what's about temp smoother for credits? do they give a better result?

thanx,
flooo

btw: virtualdub 1.4.10 available
