Hi there,
I'm a newbie and I'm trying to make SVCD's with DVD2SVCD that have the original dvd resolution of 720x576 instead of 480x576. Is this possible? How exactly? And won't I get in trouble with the subtitles?
Thanks in advance,
Nico

Dvd2svcd 1.08 build 1 has the option to use full dvd resolution. Problem is, when I play the svcd on my standalone dvd player I get horrible big black blocks through the picture. A software player plays the discs fine, so it looks like it's my standalone dvd player, a Pioneer 535.
Does anyone has an idea how to fix this?

ConCor: I wonder why you at all want to resize to full screen. It is clearly stated in the SVCD specs that the resolution is 480*y and not 720*y. It will be no wonder if your player can't play it properly.

hey cool, the author of dvd2svcd, I'm honored :)
I suppose you're right about not crossing the SVCD specs with 720xYYY svcd's. If only half the dvd players can play them, then:
- I can't watch my svcd's at my friends/girlfriends/parents place.
- I can't exchange svcd's back and forth with my friends, which means I have to encode all svcd's myself and I won't have the joy of giving.
So I'll stick to the standard and drop 720xYYY.
