Can someone please help me out with this. I thought I was doing everything right. I've burned exactly 33 movies, with what I thought to be 100% success. But it turned out that they only work on pcs, and on my ps2. Some of them will work on my xbox, but none of them work in any standalone player. I mean, any standalone player. Then I thought it was the media, so to test it, I burned a dvd using my home videos. I used sonic's mydvd to make the menus and stuff, and that one worked fine in all standalone players (and I was using the same media from the other dvds). My take on this is that I'm doing something wrong, but I really can't see what it is. Just in case you think I've forgotten to do the "Get VTS Sectors". That's not it.

I'm using dvddecrypter to rip the dvds, and IfoEdit.

please help me out,

I think I won't be too helpful here, but from posts I have seen one suggestion still remains the same : add empty Audio_TS folder.
That's actually all I can think of right now.
Hopefully someone else will know for sure what can be your problem.
I also suggest you search through the IfoEdit forum for any standalone playback related problems.

I forgot to say it, but I always do put the blank audio_ts folder, and just in case someone wonders, I was using B's Recorder Gold to burn it with.

G'Day diogo6!

> but none of them work in any standalone player.

If you had of mentioned the brand name of your DVD standalone player(s) we may have been able to isolate the problem that you are experiencing. In the absence of not knowing your player, may I suggest you visit vcdhelp/dvdplayers (http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php) and use the search engine to find your DVD player. Now remembering that this site shows reviews from around the globe, therefore take notice of only those reviews made from your region, as same model number reviews from another region have proved to differ. What you are looking for is to see whether or not your unit plays SVCD/XVCD's. I had great success visiting large retail outlets where I live and testing my works of art before purchasing the Akai ADV1150 which shows subtitles (which can be turned off) and mp3s as well as SVCD's & XVCD's which were created using DVD2SVCD.

In the meantime let us know of your results concerning your DVD standalone...

Keep smiling

thanks for the concern AlidaBa, but when I said I wasn't able to get it to work in any standalone, I meant to say any standalone that should play it for sure. I went to a goodguys store close to my house and tried it on over 20 players. But, worry no longer, I've finally been able to figure out a way of burning dvds that will play anywhere (standalones/xbox/ps2/pc). I'm following the same steps, but now I'm creating an image, and burning it with RecordNow Max. It's working so far.

Check out this other post I've put up:

note: i still don't know what I was doing wrong, maybe it's just that B's Recorder Gold sucks, has anyone had any luck with this???

Most standalone players cannot play Mini-DVD's.
